We recognize the Spirit’s work in superintending the process of canonization. The fact that Christians receive the Scriptures as a collection of texts, written by multiple human authors from across many centuries and communities, is a testimony to the way the Spirit chooses to work among us. Some people suggest that the process of canonization shows that Scripture is not authoritative.
