The only genuine way to be good is to be good ‘for nothing’ in the midst of a scene where every ‘natural’ thing, including one's own mind, is subject to chance, that is, to necessity. That ‘for nothing’ is indeed the experienced correlate of the invisibility or non-representable blankness of the idea of Good itself.
