“Don’t apologize for your passion.”
There are no other men like me in this world or any other. I exist only for you, Avery.
He’d look pretty damned good with fangs. All the better to eat me with.
“You touch her again,” Hunter said in a low, gravelly voice that was barely more than a growl, “and I’ll tear off your fucking hand.”
Because you were this…this flash of beauty in what was an otherwise gray, shitty day.”
Hunter’s lips are fire and ice, velvet and steel, and when he kisses me, I am undone.
He can bite me anywhere he pleases.
But I cast a shadow over her light days ago. I killed her smile.
“You’re mine, vaerina. I was a fool to think I could live without you.”
“I feel like I have waited eternity to hear you say my true name.”
If I had been looking, I might never have found her at all.
For someone who wants to be a writer, I sure have a way with words, huh?
I wasn’t content with just…following you. I wanted more. I wanted to speak to you. To hear you laugh, to see your smile and know it was for me. I wanted you, vaerina. All of you. And I will never stop wanting you.
“Just because you’re bigger and stronger than me doesn’t mean you can just cart me around like this whenever you want.”
“But you make me want those things. You make me want to learn. You make me want to live, vaerina. I don’t have a home, but karak’duun, I want nothing more than to make one with you.”
“You’re mine, vaerina. And I am yours. All that I am, for better or worse…I belong to you.”
“I think it’s about…hope. And selflessness. About being close to the people you love and giving them gifts not because you want something in return, but because you want to see them happy. About making traditions that you share with the people closest to you.”
“I can’t tell if that’s the most romantic thing I’ve heard or the most gruesome.”
All hail Queen Avery, Bastion of the Boardwalk, Protector of Park Place, Regent of the Railroads. long may she reign!
Valar col san, col tiel. For all that is and was.
Mine to claim. Mine to love.
