“I don’t want to hang out with a woman who’s just like me. What would I learn from her? What would we talk about? All we’d do was agree, and there’s no fun in that. I don’t want to spend hours upon hours trading yeses. That’s a waste of my time.” I folded my hands together to stop them from fidgeting. “You’d rather argue?” “I’d rather have a conversation that had meaningful points so I could see a side I hadn’t thought of.”
“Shut up,” Jesse said. “I mean, keep going, but shut up.”
“How do you make everything sound so easy?” I inhaled, my lungs so tight that I kept in the air and didn’t release it. He shrugged. “When it comes to you … it is.”
“All right, baby.” He winked. “Let’s take over the world.”
