“You can run—but I’ll find you!” And when I do, I’m making you mine.
It's him—the Cthulhu from my dreams and the mystery monster from last night. He found me after all.
“You are a breath of fresh air, mikrasa.” “What does that mean?” “It’s Cthulhuian for ‘little one’.”
As much as I desire Marea's body, I also wish to claim every aspect of her—including her heart and that wondrous mind that’s so like my own.
“So you aren’t my daddy?” My hearts clench as if pierced by an arrow. I could be.
Suddenly, above us, there’s a sound like someone is jangling open a door followed by a loud thud. Marea jumps, rushing to my side, and I tuck her under my arm. “What was that?” “Just my pet. Don't worry about him. He can be kind of a dick sometimes when I lock him away.” “Oh, do you need to check on him? Can I meet him?” “You can meet him another time, and he’s ok, just a little…excited.” “Ok, next time. I love animals.” This makes me snort. “Well, I'm sure this animal will adore you.
“Marea, you nearly brought me to my knees. You are all I can think about. You consume my thoughts—even when I'm at work. I want to know every inch of your body, of your heart, of your brain. Own all of you.” His words stoke the banked fire inside of me into a flaming inferno. I pull back a little and look up at him. The barbels on his face reach down to stroke my cheek. “Then own me.”
And once she’s addicted, I’ll make her mine.
It's not nearly…tentacle-y enough.
“Your trust is precious to me. I will guard it with my life.” The tips of my lips lift at his sweet words. “I know—that’s why I give it so freely.”
