There’s way too much meanness out there, Coyote; you gotta put as much kindness into the universe as you can and that kind of garbage. Which, I’m also big enough to acknowledge, is not actually garbage.
“What are you saying, Salvador? That I’m, like, dissolved caterpillar snot?” He rolled his eyes. “No, Coyote. I’m saying that life is a mess sometimes. That you’re a mess sometimes. But … but that you had your wings all along.” He gave my shoulders a squeeze. “You have to get through the mess to find ’em, maybe. But you had ’em all along, Coyote.”
