To the invisible ones.
Here, little lamb. I won’t eat you. At least,
She’s pretty in a pop fiction kind of way.
Screwing Clifford’s princess means one thing — pissing Uncle off. And I live to piss Uncle the fuck off and see how he looks at me like I’m a rock in his shoe. The failure. The king without a crown. The family’s black sheep.
I should probably thank chess and Uncle’s tyrannical upbringing for making me so aware of my surroundings.
If my soul is black, why does the world need colours?
The accident taught me something valuable. I’ll not be a secondary character in my own life.
Aiden offers me a knowing glance before he, Xander, Ronan, and Cole stalk to the locker room. They’re nicknamed the four horsemen because whenever they’re on the field, they bring conquest, war, famine, and eventually death. I call them the four fuckers. Aiden, Xander, and Cole snatched their positions from the seniors. Ronan was the last to join.
“No one is you, Princess.”
“You and I are toxic,” I breathe out in a low tone. “We’re nothing alike.” “It’s opposite poles who attract,”
“Opposites also destroy each other.” “I’m good with that, too.”
There are two things I learn when I drop Astrid off at school. A- She doesn’t want to be seen with me. B- I fucking hate it.
Astrid Clifford is already mine. She just doesn’t know it yet.
Tears blur my eyes as I giggle. “Is this a dream or a nightmare?” “Both, Princess.”
“I can’t win when I’ve already abdicated, Princess.”
It’s crazy. It’s reckless. But it’s ours. Levi and I haven’t started as a fairytale, and I know it won’t be a fairytale ending, but I still crave what we have.
There’s no fucking way I’ll ever get enough of her. Fuck the King and Clifford names. Fuck the animosity. Fuck everything.
“That sounds awfully like you’re my sugar daddy.” “I’ll be your anything as long as you’re mine.”
“I’m angry at you right now.” “You can be angry all you want without leaving my side.”
Astrid once told me I was a dark night. It’s on dark nights that stars like her shine the brightest.
