A monster isn’t born. It’s made.
They didn’t think I’d come back alive.
“You won’t get near her, touch her, or even fucking look at her,” I snarl against his face as his eyes bulge. “When I say to drop it, you. Fucking. Drop. It.”
“I don’t like it.” Levi’s voice stops me in my tracks. I slowly turn around to face him. “You don’t like what?” “When others touch you.”
No one messes with what’s mine and lives to talk about it.
"Make it stop, Mum," I cry in a hoarse voice. "Make it all stop, please."
Fuck anyone who thinks that Astrid is no longer mine.
I wasn’t born to bow.
But this is the first time I want to keep something instead of shattering it to pieces.
I wish it was you who died that day, not her.”
“Besides, in the best friends’ manual, it says in bold capital letters that best friends aren’t allowed to be judgy little bitches.”
“King!” I shout. “If you don’t turn around this second, we’re over. Completely over. Do you hear me?” I wish I’d never said that. I wish he hadn’t turned around. When he does, his eyes are completely washed out. I don’t recognise this Levi. Not at all. It’s like an alien has sucked his soul and left this person behind. He smirks in that cruel, sadistic way. Then his next words undo me. “We were never something to be over.”
“Oh, puhleeze, bitch.” Ronan wipes alcohol from his mouth, his cheeks red. “I can drink an entire gallon and still fuck two girls into oblivion.”
Ronan offers me his hand. “Yes, my queen.” I smile at the overdramatic tone he uses. Aiden shakes his head at his friends. “It’s your lives.”
Astrid didn’t only engrave herself in my soul, she’s also become an inseparable part of my core. And no fucking one can take that away from me.
“Astrid…” he trails off as if he can’t find the words. “I love you. I’m fucking crazy about you, Princess.”
Astrid once told me I was a dark night. It’s on dark nights that stars like her shine the brightest.
“Thank fuck, because I’m never giving up on you, Princess.” I release a long breath. “I thought you already had.” “Nah. I have to live up to my devil reputation.”
“Fuck right, I’m staying. I go wherever you go, Princess.”
And when I wake up in the morning with this face next to mine, I say a silent prayer to always wake up next to him. He might rock my world, but he’s also the only one who’s able to balance it. He’s my anchor and my peace.
“You gave my life meaning and I want to spend every single moment of it with you.” He looks up at me with his wet blond hair sticking to his temples and his pale blue eyes shining with intensity. “Would you marry me, Princess?”
“Oh, shit!” Dan exclaims with astonishment. “Does this make me the maid of honour?” I laugh, the sound carefree and happy. “Sure does, Bug.”
“I’m happy,” I whisper to Levi. “Thank you for existing, my king.” He smiles. “Thank you for being mine, Princess.”
“My love, my life, and my everything.” A low growl rips from his throat as he grips my hips and climbs atop of me. “My wife. My everything.”
