“I distinctly remember taking the lead that night, Captain. If you don’t stop toying with me, I might have to do so again,” I tease, arching my back to encourage him to continue his exploration.

“And what is my place, Father? Beneath you? On my knees, perhaps? I'm to be queen, am I not? Does a queen hold less power than a priest, Dargan? Does a king? Are these men who truly rule here, then?” I feign confusion, looking between the priest and Blackwell.
