Good leadership isn’t about advancing yourself. It’s about advancing your team.
“If you think you’re leading but no one is following, then you are only taking a walk.”

Leadership isn’t a right. It’s a privilege. It must be continually earned.

So the goal for my leaders is never to keep their jobs. The question to them is, “Will you lose it by developing others or will you lose it because you didn’t develop others?” It’s always the leader’s choice.
Level 5 leaders are measured by the caliber of leaders they develop, not the caliber of their own leadership.
