Have you ever had one of those moments that take your breath away? Not like a two-second gasp. I’m talking about the kind that literally sucks the air straight from your lungs. The kind that makes you need to grip onto something just to keep you upright. The life-altering, feel-yourself-step-into-a-whole-new-chapter-of-your-life, never-going-to-be-the-same kind of moment. This was mine.
“Because I’m falling in love with your sister.”
“So, you’re falling in love with me, huh?” I smirk, still in disbelief that he spoke those words. His expression turns skeptical as he hums. “I mean, you’re all right.”
“I love you, Laiken. I am so massively in love with you, and I’m sorry that I didn’t realize it sooner.”
“I’m in love with you, too.”
It’s just us, and this moment, and the love between us that demands to be felt.
“I would’ve deserved it. I knew the rules. But I couldn’t stand to be away from you anymore. The pain of missing you is worse than anything he could’ve done to me.”
“You are the only future I see.”
“Then why aren’t you fucking me right now?” I whine. “Because Cam is right downstairs,” he says. “And you tend to lack volume control. I don’t regret telling him about us, but I’m also not trying to rub it in his face, either.”
“I need you.” My words come out like a desperate plea. Hayes deepens the kiss, only stopping for a second to respond. “You have me, baby. You always have me.”
“Then show me what you want, babe. I’m all yours.” Yes. He. Fucking. Is.
“Look at you,” he murmurs. “So wet for me and I’ve hardly even touched you yet.”
“Fuck me,” I breathe. “I want you to fuck me.” He slows down as he leans forward and kisses me. “Not tonight, baby. Tonight, I want to love you.”
My orgasm is going to cause my heart to burst.
“You’re flawless,” he tells me as he presses back in. “So fucking perfect. And beautiful. And mine.” “All yours,”
All the pain and all the heartbreak—it was worth it because it got us here, where he’s loving me the best way he knows how.
Hayes fucking Wilder is mine.
“I love you, Laiken,”
I chose the wrong road and lost the one girl who means more to me than anyone. So, I turned the fuck around and chose again.
“It’s okay. You fell in love with me eventually.” I pull her just a little closer. “Hard and fast.” “Mm. Just how I like it.”
But I still managed to subtly say I love you by writing it into the condensation of her beer bottle. Yeah, that one may have scored me a few points.
Apparently, he thought it was a good idea to shoot a hockey puck at Isaac’s junk. Revenge for hitting on me. Fucking caveman.
So, Laiken…” He pauses just to drive me insane. “Will you officially be mine? My out-in-the-open, hold-your-hand-no-matter-who-can-see girlfriend?”
“You can sit on my face for as long as you want.”
The moment I realized I was in love with Laiken, I knew that a big part of me wanted to be with her. Exclusively. Officially. Completely.
If there’s ever a time when this girl is all I have, I’ll be okay, because she’s all I will ever need.
I’m so fucking gone for him. I always have been.
What are you doing with this idiot?” Hayes rolls his eyes, making me giggle, and he answers for me. “I’m her pipe dream.”
“Do you want to go for a ride?” Her grin widens as she bites on the tip of her thumb. “In your truck or on you?”
“I’m far too possessive to let any other woman see you like that.” “That’s my girl.”
“You’re going to jump his bones tonight, aren’t you?” “Abso-fucking-lutely.”
“Your boyfriend is going to piss on you to claim his territory,” she teases Laiken. Lai giggles and leans closer into me. “He knows I’d never let his dick come anywhere near me again.”
It’s because his best friend had my attention in a fucking vise grip.
“You know, you made a lot of great saves tonight,” he tells him. “But if you don’t get the fuck away from my girlfriend, there will be no blocking me from shoving my stick up your ass.”
HAVE YOU EVER STEPPED back and just looked at your man, thinking I am so goddamn lucky? Like really gave yourself permission to check him out the same way you did during your first date? Hayes has always managed to melt me with a single look, but I don’t think there is anything sexier than watching him work on the bar.
The guys that have the money to wine and dine you are nice, but the guys that aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty—those are the men you want.
“We’re not hiding here, baby. There’s no one else in this place. It’s just us. And I want to hear you scream.”
“I’m so fucking addicted to you.”
He’s the only man I’ve ever loved, and he’s the only one I ever will love. Because this kind of addiction—it stays. It never fades. There’s no recovery. No chance of stopping. It runs through my veins and claims me from the inside out.
“Mine,” I growl, mostly for Lucas’s benefit. But it’s Mali that answers, rolling her eyes. “Yeah, we know, caveman. No need to brand her to clarify.”
“How do you think I feel? Being around the two of them almost makes me miss jail.”
“You are the only one I’m ever meant to be with.”
“Baby, I’m jealous of anyone who gets to be around you while I can’t be.”
“Tell anyone and I’ll say you’re full of shit. My reputation has no room for a Sappy Fucker title.”
“Damn, babe. What kind of magical pussy do you have?”
“Nuh-uh,” I tell her. “You’re going to let me hear all of it. I want you screaming until your throat is raw.”
“Your mouth should be illegal.”
Long story short; my husband has become a PMS-ing preteen.
“That’s my good girl. Always so good for me, giving me everything I want.”
“Taking me like such a good little princess.”
