“So, you’re falling in love with me, huh?”
“I mean, you’re all right.”
“I love you, Laiken. I am so massively in love with you, and I’m sorry that I didn’t realize it sooner.”
“You are the only future I see.”
“I need you.”
“You have me, baby. You always have me.”
“Fuck me,” I breathe. “I want you to fuck me.” He slows down as he leans forward and kisses me. “Not tonight, baby. Tonight, I want to love you.”
All the pain and all the heartbreak—it was worth it because it got us here, where he’s loving me the best way he knows how.
I chose the wrong road and lost the one girl who means more to me than anyone. So, I turned the fuck around and chose again.
She’s that once in a lifetime kind of person for me, and it reached a point where I knew that if I let her slip away, I’d live in constant regret.
So, Laiken…” He pauses just to drive me insane. “Will you officially be mine? My out-in-the-open, hold-your-hand-no-matter-who-can-see girlfriend?”
there’s ever a time when this girl is all I have, I’ll be okay, because she’s all I will ever need.
“Get in the truck before I fuck you right here in the parking lot.”
“You know, you made a lot of great saves tonight,” he tells him. “But if you don’t get the fuck away from my girlfriend, there will be no blocking me from shoving my stick up your ass.”
“Lai,” he says softly. “You have me. All of me. Forever.”
“We’re not hiding here, baby. There’s no one else in this place. It’s just us. And I want to hear you scream.”
“You are a fucking dream,” he murmurs. “I will never get enough of you.”
“Only you,” he confesses. “Only ever you.”
“There isn’t a single part of me I don’t want you to know. You can ask me anything.”
“You’re it for me, Laiken. I don’t care if it’s been a few months or thirty goddamn years. That isn’t going to change. So, you can say no and we can play the long game if that’s what you want. We can take it slow. But I’m going to spend the rest of my life loving you, regardless.”
“This isn’t me trying to rush into something to get my way. This is me acting on what I want with absolute certainty that it’s the right move—because you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. And I don’t need to wait in order to know that you’re the one I want to grow old with.”
“If I’ve learned anything over the last few months, it’s that this life isn’t worth living if I don’t have you by my side. I’m already the luckiest man in the world for getting any time with you at all, but I’m greedy and I want every second you have to give. So, for the love of God, marry me, because anything less than forever with you just isn’t enough for me.”
“She has very quickly become the center of my entire universe. The one person I cannot live without. And if I can spend the rest of my life making her feel for me, even half of what I feel for her, that would be a life worth living.”
“I know she talks in her sleep if she drinks caffeine before bed. And that while she acts like a badass, and a part of her is, she’s also fragile and would throw herself on a blade to protect those she loves. I know that she doubts herself on a constant basis, even though she’s the most amazing person I’ve ever met.”
