“So, you’re falling in love with me, huh?” I smirk, still in disbelief that he spoke those words. His expression turns skeptical as he hums. “I mean, you’re all right.”
“I love you, Laiken. I am so massively in love with you, and I’m sorry that I didn’t realize it sooner.”
“I need you.” My words come out like a desperate plea. Hayes deepens the kiss, only stopping for a second to respond. “You have me, baby. You always have me.”
“Fuck me,” I breathe. “I want you to fuck me.” He slows down as he leans forward and kisses me. “Not tonight, baby. Tonight, I want to love you.”
All the pain and all the heartbreak—it was worth it because it got us here, where he’s loving me the best way he knows how.
I chose the wrong road and lost the one girl who means more to me than anyone. So, I turned the fuck around and chose again.
So, Laiken…” He pauses just to drive me insane. “Will you officially be mine? My out-in-the-open, hold-your-hand-no-matter-who-can-see girlfriend?”
If there’s ever a time when this girl is all I have, I’ll be okay, because she’s all I will ever need.
“We’re not hiding here, baby. There’s no one else in this place. It’s just us. And I want to hear you scream.”
“How do you think I feel? Being around the two of them almost makes me miss jail.”
So much for newlywed bliss.
Shit dipped in gold and overpriced is still just shit.
“Please. You’re just afraid you’re going to get eaten by a shark. You have no balls.” “Oh, and you do?” he counters. “Yep!” I answer proudly. “They’re just too big to go between my legs, so God put them on my chest.”
THERE’S A FINE LINE between calm and chaos when it feels like your entire life is on shaky ground. Just a breeze from the wrong direction could send it all crashing down around us. All we can do is hold on for dear life and hope we make it out alive, and I’m trying to. But that doesn’t mean I’m not breaking inside—worried about what could go wrong next.
It’s so easy to get lost in life, but you don’t realize how vital these little moments are until a bomb explodes in the middle of everything you care about.
