Soon enough, all of us are dancing to the beat of this terrible music. I finally decide to let loose and enjoy this stereotypical high school memory. Why the fuck not? It’s one of the last times I’ll get to have this with my friends, so I may as well enjoy it. Like Mama says, it’s important to appreciate the little things in life. No matter how stupid they may seem.
He laughs again, the sound making my insides flip and my heart stutter. All these stupid fucking feelings that I said I’d never have, yet here I am, drowning in them and welcoming every second. Why? Because it’s Blaine fucking Yates and he does it for me.
When he spots me, it’s like a complete shift. It’s not like he breaks into a wide smile and runs toward me, but the golden flecks in his eyes light up. I drape my arms around his neck when I reach him, not waiting even a second before kissing him and fucking his mouth with my tongue.
He’s here with me. Not because he chose me over them but because he chose himself first. Our life together may not be perfect—fighting about groceries, agonizing over renter’s insurance, balancing our crazy hours—but I wouldn’t change it because it’s everything to me.
“I love you, Si.” He looks over his shoulder, bumping his helmet with mine, and I can see his hidden smile. “I love you too, baby. Now, let’s go find some shit to fuck up.” I throw my head back with laughter as he starts the bike and takes off down the street. Life with him will never be boring, and it’s time to find our next adventure. Together.
