“Been in a lot of relationships, have you?” He stopped walking and caught my hand, pulling me to stand in front of him. His smile dimmed but his eyes were soft. “Nope. You ruined me, but I’m not mad about it.”
She rolled her eyes. “Like you’re ready to get married.” “To you? I’d get married this afternoon,” I said without thinking. “Would have done it twelve years ago if I was smart enough.”
“Liv, when I see you without pants on, it won’t be against your will, okay? You’ll be begging me to take them off.”
“I don’t know what I was going to do. I’d been thinking about you for years. I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life regretting that I wasn’t good enough for you, and that I didn’t even try.”
“How many birds are on your arm?” “Twelve. I get one on our birthday every year,” he said quietly, and my pulse tripped.
Fucking hell, being with Liv was fun. There was no one like her, no one who knew how to push my buttons like she did. No one I enjoyed bugging like her. I shook my head, staring at her, taking in her pretty face, her big brown eyes glittering in the golden hour light. “I missed you so fucking much.”
“It’s true.” She nodded, lacing her fingers together, and a tear rolled down her cheek. “I do love you. A lot. Like, the most out of anyone who’s ever loved anyone. An ugly amount, like I’ll kill anyone who hurts you, that kind of love.”
My heart always had and always would belong to Olivia Morgan.
The smartest thing I ever did was let myself love Finn Rhodes.
