“Liv, I know you hate me, I know I fucked up and deserve to rot for how badly I fucked up, but—” He took another deep breath. “I love you, you’re my soulmate, and we’re destined to be together.” He swallowed, and his broad chest rose and fell with another deep breath. “And I’m going to do everything I can to change your mind about hating me.”
Finn and I were back together, but not for long. I was going to make Finn Rhodes dump me.
“Liv, when I see you without pants on, it won’t be against your will, okay? You’ll be begging me to take them off.”
“Kiss, kiss, kiss,” I started chanting, head whipping around like someone else had said it. “Oh my god? What’s that?” Liv snorted. “Finn—”
“Liv, I never want to be Cole. I know I hurt you. I know I fucked up. I told Sadie that I was coming back, and that was because I thought you weren’t going to finish school. I was going to…” I shook my head. “I don’t know what I was going to do. I’d been thinking about you for years. I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life regretting that I wasn’t good enough for you, and that I didn’t even try.”
“How many birds are on your arm?” “Twelve. I get one on our birthday every year,” he said quietly, and my pulse tripped.
