The violent objection … is a spirit that reveals a regrettable absence of the sense of humor.” In their opinion, ethnic minorities were selfish for wanting to eliminate stereotype comedy when it was enjoyed by so many: “A few may seriously object, from rooted prejudice to racial caricature. But more enjoy and applaud, and they have rights that are at least worthy of consideration.”
