“Every action we take has consequences, Vin,”
“I’ve found that in both Allomancy and life, the person who can best judge the consequences of their actions will be the most successful.
“Tell me, mistress. What is it that you believe?” Vin frowned. “What kind of question is that?” “The most important kind, I think.”
“Kelsier,” Vin said softly. “He’s a good man, isn’t he?”
Sazed smiled. “A very good man, mistress. One of the best I’ve known.”
Vin nodded slightly. “A good man…” she said. “I don’t think I’ve ever know...

People are valuable, Mistress Vin, and so—therefore—are their beliefs.
“Have you known me to lie before?” “The best liars are those who tell the truth most of the time.”
But … do you stop loving someone just because they betray you? I don’t think so. That’s what makes the betrayal hurt
so much—pain, frustration, anger … and I still loved her. I still do.”

The answer came immediately. I love him.
She loves him.
Can’t believe I just saved a nobleman, Kelsier thought, struggling to choke the Inquisitor. You’d better appreciate this, girl.
I represent that thing you’ve never been able to kill, no matter how hard you try. I am hope.”
“A good man…” Vin said. “Yes. I’ve known a few of those, now.”
“You read too much. Especially in the presence of ladies.”
Vin closed her eyes, simply feeling the warmth of being held.
And realized that was all she had ever really wanted.
