Don’t go breaking my heart, Hurricane.
I’ve got the next ten months to slow burn the fuck out of this.”
“You swept into my life like a swirling storm of chaos. You’ve shattered everything. I’m in fucking free fall. No parachute. No one to catch me.”
“You can’t love me? Or you can’t admit it? Because they’re two completely different things.”
“Mä kuulun sulle,”
All I’m saying is that life is long…and the hate you carry is a heavy burden. Maybe there’s hope for a future where you learn to put it down.”
“You would brave any danger for those you love. Climb any mountain, leap from any clifftop. A love like yours is wild and dangerous. You need men who will not seek to harness you or break your spirit. You need men who will protect you. Who will provide a safe space for you to love as freely as your heart will allow. We are those men.”
Shut that door. Then get over here, and kiss me like I’m the last man you’ll ever kiss for the rest of your lucky fucking life.”
Our souls entwined. It was fate. It was nature in poetic motion. He’s mine and I’m his. Loving him is easier than breathing. My joy and my happiness, he brings sweetness to my life. He centers me and makes me feel whole.
He knows loss and tragedy. But he also knows the resilient hope that comes from healing. He knows how to weather a storm, even one that strips you to nothing. He knows how to rebuild. He’s a survivor. He’s the strong center that holds. He is the place where we all find strength.
He contains multitudes. He makes me believe that home isn’t a place. It’s a feeling. Home is being in his arms.
“What do you think ‘mennään naimisiin’ means?” I blink back at him. “I don’t know. I don’t speak Finnish!” “It means ‘marry me,’” he huffs. “I say it all the goddamn time.”
“I loved you from the moment I saw you. You stole my breath away, and I’ve been living on borrowed time ever since. Be my life support. Keep my heart beating. Marry the fuck outta me.”
“My lover. Mother of my children. My fucking soulmate. That’s what you are. You took something from me the night we met, and I’ll never get it back. I don’t want it back. You changed me, baby.”
