“She isn’t yours, Remo. She didn’t choose you. That’s a big difference,” Fabiano said before he turned and left.
An innocent woman won’t suffer for it.”
She shook her head and peered up at Nino with so much fucking love I knew I could never hurt a single hair on her body.
“Fuck,” I snarled and glared at Nino. “Couldn’t you have chosen an airheaded wife? She’s as good at manipulation as you are.”
“Your pride will be your downfall,” I said. “And your fury will be yours.” “Then we’ll fall together. Isn’t that the beginning of every tragic love story?”
Kiara trailed after me as I sank down on the sofa. She didn’t know what was good for her. Now that she wasn’t completely terrified by my presence anymore, she annoyed the fuck out of me.
“You should be wary of a brain that makes you love my brother and trust me, Kiara,” I muttered. She laughed. “It’s not my brain, it’s my heart.”
I wiped at my eyes. “He’s my twin. I’ve never been without him. I would walk through fire for him.”
He possessed me. He owned me. I was the queen. He was the king. Checkmate.
“You are mine, Angel. Body and soul,” he rasped. And God help me, he spoke the truth.
“We can try kidnapping her again. It worked once, who’s to say it won’t work again?” he said almost incredulously.
You treated me like a brother…” He glanced down at his father. “Like family. I know you wanted nothing more than to kill your father and had that taken from you. I know it’s not the same, but…will you help me kill my father?”
“Whatever’s in there, it’s yours. Whatever love I’m capable of, it’s yours, too.”
