“What’s a ‘Mozart chocolate’?” Filip asked. “Oh, it’s so good you wouldn’t believe how good,” Pan Merenstayn said. “A little candied hazelnut covered in chocolate, wrapped up in gold, with a picture of Mozart’s face on it. You know Mozart? The Magic Flute?” Filip shook his head. “Oh, that’s too bad. That’s a shame. If I were allowed to turn on the record player . . .” And here Pan Merenstayn gave me a look to see if he should go ahead and do it.
