“What? My grandson said this lil fucker stole his lunch bag and it’s his favorite one.” Rico shrugged.
“Nah. I thought I should inconvenience his family the way he inconvenienced my grandson.”
“Nah, y’all not about to sweat out my silk press.” Dai waved her off,
“Boy, fuck you and that mop on top of your head. Niggas wanna be bitches so bad. Standing there with fucking black polish on your nails, looking like a played-out Prince wanna be. Fuck you!”
No disrespect but fuck your ugly ass daddy.
“Right! Fuck that asshole,” Junie grunted, walking into the living room holding a tray of shots and pre-rolled joints. “And I mean that disrespectfully as fuck.”
I don’t give a fuck if I’m walking around this bitch looking like Calliou. I’m the baddest bald-headed bitch in every room I walk in,” Junie preached. Hunter held her shot glass out so they could toast. “And that’s on who?” she asked. “Rosa-stand your muthafuckin’ ground-Parks.” Junie threw the shot back.
“Yo big burly ass need to watch where the fuck you walking. Big lip nigga got me and my best friend fucked up,”
“You should just jump on the train. Go ahead and settle down with Pink,” Tree smirked, mentioning Bone’s on again, off again girlfriend. “Fill her up with that
When Hunter stretched her arms out to do the worm, Junie caught it, rolled her body, and passed it to Dai, who caught it and did the bank head bounce. Their dance moves were right up his alley.
“You are. You’re like an Egyptian god, but you’re so sad. If you were mine, I’d pray over you and deliver you from those demons,” she mumbled. “I’d make you feel safe, and I’d protect you from whatever has you in a chokehold.”
“If a nigga telling you that you don’t mean shit to him, believe it.
“Nah, I’m promising you that if that nigga ain’t gone within ten minutes, I’m pulling up, and we’ll improv from there.” Beep beep beep “Op,” she snickered, looking at the phone. Nite hung up on her. “Shit, let me get Aaron the hell out of here before they fuck my house up.”
“Shawn isn’t my shit. I’m so tired of this fake ass family, you included.”
“Yep, and they watching Netflix. You want me to cut off the internet or change the Netflix password?”
“Of who?” Hunter bucked her eyes. “A bitch with a stale weave could never make me jealous.” “Same shit I said, sis,” Dai agreed. “It don’t move.”
“I know. That’s where I messed up at. I let you ride my dick, and now you think you can just talk to me any kind of way, but it don’t work like that. Take that shit off and touch your toes,”
“Slice yo ass from ear to ear if you fucking touch me.”
Axel waved at the woman in the front seat and followed behind Nite as if he was produced from his sack. “You know her?” Dai asked once they were in the car. The woman was a cutie, and nothing would pull Aaron's hoe card worse than taking yet another woman he claimed. “Yes...that’s Julie.”
“Dammmmnnnn!” The hood went up in excitement as Hunter hopped on top of Mika and gave her the same ass whooping her sister had received hours prior.
“Y’all put me in a bind by leaving like that.” “Then nigga you better call Nate
“And I’m going to rob yo ass,” Chica promised.
“Nah, the rec is for broke people. We gotta a lil money, so we move different.” “Yes! I told y’all!” Axel looked back at his brothers. “My mama boyfriend is rich,” he boasted.
“Bihhh, this man brought me and my son on a private jet and is taking us on a yacht. He gave me his card and spent a few bands on us in the city. I'm about to get filthy.”
“Because you have me questioning everything I thought I knew. I feel so connected to you and these feelings have me wanting to give you the world. I want to show you there are still good things on earth. I want to protect you and kiss every scar on your body until your heart heals. I want to pray over you and help you fight all the demons that keep you from sleeping. I want to be your peace.”
“What else is there to say? You wanna do it, I’ma support you, and when you graduate, I’ll go find a bunch of niggas with fucked up grills so you can practice.” “You’d do that for me?” Hunter cheesed like he’d just given her a bouquet of roses.
“Don’t yell at my mama!” Axel barked, standing in front of Hunter, ready to go to blows in her honor. He was tired of seeing her cry behind men who were supposed to protect her. Even at his tender age, he knew it was wrong.
Jr looked at his sister with sorrow in his eyes. While he felt a sense of loyalty to his father and brothers, Hunter was the one that held him down while he was in prison. If she wasn’t sending him care packages that included books and music, Hunter was putting money on his commissary. If it weren’t for her, Jr would have been just another inmate doing side hustles to survive.
“With what, Rob? Nigga, you don’t have shit. Your grown ass lives in your daddy's basement and spend every dollar that passes through your hand on weed and alcohol. All you do is stand on the corner and drink with your friends. I see why you relate so much to Shawn because you’re following right in his footsteps,” Hunter spoke, giving Rob a dose of reality.
“That’s all you want.” Hunter rolled her eyes. “Mama, do that hip shit,” she mocked him.
“I uh- I promised the big man that if he sent me back, I was only going to pop pills every other day.” “You stupid.”
You saved our lives,” he sniffed.
Hunter swung, clocking Nite in the face. “You better watch your mouth,” she snapped. “Mad or not, you will not stand here and act like I'm some random bitch.”
“I’m disloyal?” Hunter squinted. “I’d like to think I’m loyal to a fault. When people were asking why I was so skinny, why I had marks all over my body, and why I was missing school so much, I was loyal. I could have easily told them my drunk ass daddy was beating my ass because I looked like his deceased wife.”
“If he wants this freshly shaved pussy propped up on his face tonight, he’s not going to utter a word,” Rina smirked. Instead of answering, Dai closed his eyes and started snoring.
Dai waited until she turned the corner before he opened his eyes again.
“Nah. You can pay us back in blood.” Nite and Dai both raised their guns and emptied the clips into Rico.
