To the ones who try to save everyone but themselves. Remember that you are just as important as the person beside you. Remember to live.
Our son was born from toxicity. My boys say it’s a miracle he has a good soul. That boy’s soul was made of rainwater, pure, untouched, directly from heaven above.
“Be a good girl or I’ll fuck you into one.”
“You looking for that woman, Dad?” I turned around to find Caleb sitting on his stool. Narrowing my eyes at him, I took a long sip of my water. “Who are you talking about, son?” Caleb blinked and then shrugged. “The pretty one who pisses you off?”
“I’m glad you were there for her, Dad. Not a lot of people get to be saved by a man like you,”
Jack Sparrow drinks rum and he always looks like he is having a good time. So, I decided on rum.
“You leave me, so help me God, baby, I will hunt you down,” he clipped. “I will find you and take my anger out on that perfect, round ass of yours. You won’t be able to walk for a fucking month.”
“Live, Valerie.”
“My momma would’ve loved you,”
“Love ain’t meant for cowboys. Because when a cowboy falls in love, not even the fires of hell could stop him from being with her.”
“You need to come back to me, ya hear? I need you. Is that what you want to hear, Enchantress?” My thumbs stroked her cheeks. “If that’s what you want to hear, then I’ll tell you every second of every day, baby. Morning, noon, and night. Dammit, I’ll never stop telling you how much I need you—how much I love you. But you gotta come back to me—come home to me, Valerie.”
“Breathe for me, Valerie. Breathe for me and never stop,” I cried, shaking her body. “Breathe for me because I’m breathing for you.”
