(my tendency to act first and think second was one of my personality flaws)
was gonna need a loaf of bread the size of my face.
usually didn’t sit across from a beautiful woman and use the same facial expression as when I stared down a defensive end who was trying to knock my ass over.
But despite all that refinement, she had terrible handwriting.
“I’ve always wanted to start a relationship off with threats.”
Then he tugged my hand up toward his mouth, brushing a featherlight kiss along my knuckles.
“You just have the creativity of a potato, Cameron.”
“Not for you. I think Greer is going to eat you up and spit you out, and then I’m going to have to deal with your mopey ass.
“I’m a Southern boy at heart.
“Ignore her, Beckett. We all do.”
“So it’s your fault Greer likes to eat pie for breakfast,”
“Some people are too afraid to love that way, undaunted by whatever might come next, which might look like sweetness to some. But I just see a big, brave heart.”
“I’ve got seven adults walking around this earth, and they all have pieces of my heart. I can’t get them back, and I wouldn’t want to, even if I could.”

“We have days and weeks and months, and every time I wake up with my hands on you, this is what’s going to happen. I’ll wake you up like this every fucking day because you’re mine, Greer.” It was enough.

“Don’t drink coffee,”
“You don’t drink coffee?”
“But…”
“I had this gorgeous woman living in my house, and I wanted to do something nice for her. That’s all.”
“I like having a husband,” I said quietly.
“Clarence, you twisted little shit, bring that back,” Greer yelled.
Clarence—who was, in fact, the naughtiest cat that had ever existed—raced through the kitchen with one of Greer’s bras in his mouth. When he took a corner too fast, his paws got tangled in the straps and he pitched forward
in an ungainly somersault, slamming into the back of the arm chair.
