I don’t think love at first sight exists, but I believe in annoyed at first sight, and Colton is exactly that. He’s obnoxious and self-centered, and I’ll gladly keep my distance. He’s bad news.
Enemies make the best lovers, Colt. –A
This girl is a fucking hurricane, and I’m right in the middle of it. In all honesty, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
My hand hovers over my keyboard, and my fingers refuse to move. I suck in a breath and leisurely lower my gaze. Colt’s palm rests on my knee, and he slowly drags it up, under my skirt. He inches to my ear; his hot breath on my skin makes my nipples harden instantly. “On a scale from one to five, how quiet do you think you’ll be able to keep?” And he fucking won. Checkmate, Ava.
What did the girl you like say to you after you gave her an orgasm? Uh-huh.
“Colton, I’m not going to run away.” Hearing this, he focuses his attention on me, slowing down just a bit. “You can put me down.” “Do you think that’s the reason I’m carrying you? That I’m afraid you’ll run away from me?” His voice is full of amusement, and I pinch my brows together. “Why else?” “Because I want to.” His eyes are glimmering with mischief. My heartbeat accelerates, and the butterflies in my belly decide to throw a party. That’s the only explanation I have for the flutters I feel. It’s insanity.
“Who said I’m interested?” I arch my eyebrow, keeping my face impassive. “Your pulse.” I slide my gaze to my wrist, only now noticing that his hand is wrapped around it. “And probably your panties.”
“You think there’s space for anyone else in my head? You corrupted every brain cell I have.”
“Glad you like it,” I murmur, watching him. “Like it? I’m ready to fucking marry you if you promise to make these for me every day.” “I’m not wife material, Colt.” His eye twitches, and I instantly regret my words. Dammit, Ava, way to ruin everything. But it’s Colt. This guy is my personal undoing. “You’re confident and independent, yes. But the way you purr when I’m taking care of your needs, and how submissive you can be…I’d say you’re wife material—in the right arms.” I hide my silly smile behind my juice glass, taking a sip.
“She must’ve fucked your brain up good if you’re so whipped,” he scoffs, standing up. “You should thank me though.” “Thank you?” I smirk, seeing the guys celebrating our win and listening to the crowd cheering. “Everything she does in bed, I taught her. I was her first.” Stupid fucker, never knows when to keep his mouth shut. I step closer. Now we’re chest to chest. “Good thing I intend to be her last.”
Before I know it, he lifts me, and my legs lock behind his back. “Let’s get you onto the ice.” He walks toward the ice, stepping on it gingerly. My grip around his shoulders becomes tighter. Colt catches my gaze, and a soft smile curls his lips. “I’ve got you, baby. I’ve got you. You can trust me.” “I know.” I flash him a little smile.
“I love you, Ava. I love you more than fucking hockey, and for someone like me, that sounds like the ravings of a lunatic. If anything, I’m obsessed with you, because any time I get to taste you, I crave you even more. You are the only girl I want, the only one I’ll ever need. And I’ll do anything for you to give me another chance. Please, Ava.”
