Conall pulled me to a corner where a man sat with his head lowered to study the camera in his lap. “Eli! Have you met our new chef?” The man holding the camera looked up when we got to his side. “I saw him in the mess tent this morning but didn’t have a chance to introduce myself,” he told Conall before turning to me with a hand out. “Nice to meet you. I’m Eli. I’m in charge of taking photos.”
