I stood as well, but I wasn’t really sure what to do considering I’d never seen the man before. Coal gave him a brief pat on the shoulder. Although he was more confident in himself now, he still wasn’t comfortable touching anyone else besides me, and maybe he would never be fully okay with it, and that was fine. He was learning to be comfortable with himself, and that was all that really mattered.
