All four of them freeze as I enter, their heads shooting up to look at me. I can see their nostrils flaring and I know they’re smelling me. A sly look slides into Ethan’s eyes. Dante looks triumphant. Caleb’s blushing as he stares down resolutely at his food. Garrett’s not even looking at me, after that first quick instinctive glance. But I know he can smell it too, because just like all the others, he’s purring with satisfaction.
