I begin to identify the various scents: spicy clove, cinnamon, sweet apple cider, and smooth caramel. Dante, Ethan, Garrett, and Caleb. Their four scents mixing together into the perfect cocktail. It’s homey and intoxicating at the same time. I feel completely, utterly safe for the first time in years, possibly my entire life.
