And if that wasn’t bad enough, she broke up with him because she “can’t be involved with a violent criminal.” Cam was devastated. My parents hired a lawyer. And I started thinking of all the ways her death could look like an accident.
“I was still drunk from the night before. I was crying because I remembered that Taco Bell exists.” Cam smirks and looks back at his friend Aiden. “You believe a word of this shit?” He shrugs. “I don’t know, man. Taco Bell to a drunk chick is like free porn to us.”
My resume should read King of Chaos and Zero Fucks. Well, that is, if I had a résumé.
look down at Cam and chuckle as he groans in pain. And to think he has a thing for that girl.
“Mm-hm. So, where’s Laiken? Do you have her tied up somewhere?” Now that is a thought that should never go through my mind, and yet there it is. And something tells me that was Mali’s intention.
As I walk inside, “Your Body is a Wonderland” by John Mayer fills the entire arena.
I run my fingers through my damp hair as Mali pulls up in front of the rink. The bass from her sound system vibrates the windows as she belts the words to Since You’ve Been Gone. With the way she’s singing it, you’d think she’s fresh in the angry healing stage of the world’s worst break up.
“How you manage to not get pulled over is beyond me.” She gives me her best fuck you smile. “I do get pulled over, but a little cleavage goes a long way, Laiken dear.” “Right.” I nod. “That’s how you ended up on a date with that cop who wouldn’t stop comparing the size of his gun and his dick. I remember now.”
as she belts out the lyrics to Taylor Swift’s All Too Well.
“You finally got approved for the sex change you’ve wanted?” Both Cam and Hayes stop what they’re doing and turn to look at me, confused and concerned, as Mali laughs. “Please, the world would be a dangerous place if I had a penis.”
INSOMNIA IS A BITCH.
At first I thought I just couldn’t sleep because I was drunk, but the room stopped spinning when I sobered up a couple hours ago. And still, I can’t seem to shut off my brain.
“Fucking hell,” he whispers. “I don’t stand a chance when it comes to you, do I?”
“I want you, okay? When you’re around, I can’t seem to keep my eyes off you. And when we’re alone together, I lack even the most basic fundamentals of self-control.” He takes a step closer and puts his hands on the counter in front of me. “But no matter how crazy you make me, at the end of the day, you’re still my best friend’s little sister. We can’t cross that line.”
because that line you claim we can’t cross? You obliterated it the moment you sucked my cum off your fingers.”
Fate has always had a way of laughing in my face, and it must have teamed up with Karma for this one. The timing of this couldn’t be worse. Laiken hates my guts—rightfully so—and now I have to spend the next three hours with her. Oh, and her brother, who can’t know there is anything off between us. This should be a blast.
“It means Laiken wouldn’t have you, especially if you keep referring to her as Baby Blanchard like some kind of pedophile. Can we get back to business now?”
She steps down off the bleachers and stands on the other side of the glass. “Take that shit off,” I roar. She’s anything but impressed. “No.” Wrong answer. “I mean it, Laiken. Take it the fuck off or I’ll cut it off you.”
“No. Absolutely not. You’re not staking a claim on me or whatever it is you’re trying to do. Go get me one of Cam’s.”
“And I’m glad you’ve figured that out. Now, hate me all you want, but take off his fucking jersey.”
“You think I won’t still fuck her while she’s wearing your jersey?”
Slipping the lighter out of my pocket, I don’t look away from her for a second as I light the paper on fire.
“He can’t, and I won’t even let him try.” I keep her in place as I move in until my lips are right against hers, feeling the heat of our breath mixing together. “Because you’re fucking mine.”
“Ma’am, the attitude is unnecessary.” “You interrupting my orgasm was unnecessary, sir,” she spits back. Her being a bitch in the name of sexual gratification should not be nearly as attractive as it is. I know we haven’t been able to get enough of each other lately, but goddamn. I created a monster, and I fucking love it.
“Okay, but you should know, my safe word is prune juice.”
“On second thought, I don’t like pussy enough for prison.”
What she doesn’t know is that she’s too pretty. She would most likely be the one getting instead of giving, but there’s no way I’m telling her that. She doesn’t need to be enticed to go to jail.
“You don’t like pussy enough, remember?” I tell her. She sighs, pouting like a child. “Fine.”
Tommy Valentine. Yes, he’s as cheesy as his name is.
“I’m not jealous—I’m possessive. There’s a difference. And I’ve told you before. You. Are. Mine.”
“What if a fish gets pregnant with your baby?”
