40This one God raised up on the third day, and granted that he become manifest, 41not to all the people, but to us, witnesses previously appointed by God, who ate and drank with him after he rose again from the dead; 42and he commanded us to proclaim to the people and solemnly to testify that this is the one marked out by God as judge of the living and the dead.
