Auden’s “Horae Canonicae”—seven linked poems, each named after one of the monastic hours—appear in both his Collected Poems (New York: Modern Library, 2007) and Selected Poems (New York: Vintage, 2007). He worked on these poems between 1949 and 1954, and they constitute, I think, his finest achievement as a poet.
In the Vineyard of the Text: A Commentary to Hugh’s Didascalicon (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1996). I cannot recommend it too highly.
