Ravens! Always the ravens. They settled on the gables of the church even before the injured became the dead.
I haven't read this book since the proof read in 2010, but it still seems pretty familiar. The opening at least. No doubt my fading memories have some pit-traps dug for me along the way.
Anyway - the opening still feels decent. Not my most eloquent, but it sets the tone.
