You’re more important than anything else, I wanted to tell her. I care about you so much; I don’t know what I’d do if I lost you. If you let me love you, I’d never do anything else for the rest of my life.
“Friends don’t kiss you the way I do,
“Whatever you want, Charlotte.” I always meant it when it came to her.
“You’ve been my best friend since I was nineteen years old and I walked into your dorm and ran into you. The only person who knows me, inside and out. I don’t need any of that. I just need you in my life. By my side.”
“Who told you that you could be so perfect?” I murmured under my breath, but when I looked up at him, the way he was gazing at me took my breath away. Would it ever stop? “Only for you,” he promised, resting our foreheads together.
“Go crazy. I’ll carry the ones you pick out.”
The way she would light up when someone complimented the dress she’d made, and her response was always, “Thank you! It has pockets!” Not bragging that she’d made it. She’d stick her hands in and the other girl would be in awe, because fucking pockets, man.
“Charlotte… In case it wasn’t obvious, I love you.” His forehead rested against mine, and my breath caught. “I’m in love with you.”
