‘In dealing with fear, I think that we first need to recognize that there are many different types of fear. Some kinds of fear are very genuine, based on valid reasons. Fear of violence or fear of bloodshed, for example. We can see that these things are very bad. Then there’s fear about the long term negative consequences of our negative actions, fear of suffering, fear of negative emotions such as hatred.
