We must centrally direct economic activity if we want to make the distribution of income conform to current ideas of social justice.
If that were our goal, sure. But I dont think it is at least anymore. It's not about making a perfectly "fair" distribution of income, what we aim for now is a change in opportunity. Asking those who have benefited most to pay more so that we can educate and incentivize more competition rather than allowing them to change the rules to prevent competition.
