But as we are told also in the Bible legend, it would actually have been possible for Adam to “put forth his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever.” And in the Christian image of the crucified redeemer that is exactly what we are being asked to do. The teaching here is that Christ restored to man immortality.
