Perhaps the most significant warning sign is the rise in the number of Jews who no longer identify with any denomination. In 1990, only 10 percent of Jews described themselves as “just Jewish”;6 by 2020, those reporting no particular movement identity had more than tripled to 32 percent, with rates as high as 41 percent for those under the age of twenty-nine.
