According to the Latin American historian Karen Robert, by the end of the dictatorship, “virtually all the shop-floor delegates had been disappeared from the country’s biggest firms … such as Mercedes-Benz, Chrysler and Fiat Concord.”49 Both Ford and Mercedes-Benz deny that their executives played any role in the repression.
