"Master Minalan!" he said, with relish. "Nice of you to join us! I was just telling Master Garkesku and Senior Apprentice Fenar how shitty it was being a junior apprentice." He glanced at the burning figure of Fenar.

Then it all came back: the aftermath of the Battle of Lights, the fight with the Crinroc, the surrender. I blinked.
This character is swiftly losing his appeal.
