“Whoop,” he called, raking his knuckle against the wood harder. “I know you ain’t sleep because you always pop up when I walk in this bitch, like you feel a nigga or something. Open the door.”
“You don’t care? This shit ain’t ripping away at you, Whoop?” Her head shook, and he gritted, “You’re lying because I haven’t breathed easy since I walked in this fucking house.”
“I got you. You got me?” “Fa sho’. You know it’s forever up about you, Whoop.”
How the
fuck I’m supposed to be her nigga and can’t even protect her from being violated?”
“Those girls are damaged, and that shit is sad. Every adult that was supposed to teach and love them, fucked them up in the head. They ain’t had no guidance.”
A nigga with time ain’t got no money, and one with money ain’t got no time.”
“Say some shit like that again, and I’m gon’ show you what it’s like for me not to bother ‘bout yo ass.”
“If your bullshit comes between me and my brothers or if any of this comes back on me… bitch, I’m gon’ kill you,” he hissed before dropping her limp body at his feet. Jessica glared up at him with blurry eyes and a hand massaging her throat as he commanded, “Get the fuck out of my house.”
“I know when I’m fucking up, whether I admit that shit or not. I also know gifts can’t fix shit with yo ass, but this is all I know how to do. You ain’t what I’m used to, Whoop. I’m still trying to get the hang of you.”
“I know what I said and how you felt. Now, I’m telling you that I’m yo first call about whatever. Big or small, you come to me ‘cause that’s why I’m here.
Don’t have me going all in and falling for yo ass, just for you to bounce when shit gets rocky. I need assurance that you gon’ hold tight for a nigga. Your feelings aren’t the only ones on the line.
“Take a picture. It’ll last longer,” she teased, and he glanced up with a sluggish grin. “I don’t have to take a picture of shit when it’s mine.
I’ve never met a guy that thinks or moves like you, Shabu.” “You’ve never met a nigga like me at all.”
I love you to death, Ma, but I don’t have to lay with you at night.”
“He can’t talk her into spreading her legs. She did it because she wanted to. As far as where you went wrong with my brother, you did that the second you stayed with Joseph.”
While they get pieces of these men, we get everything. The good, the bad, and the fucking ugliest shit you’ll ever see. We endure their blissful highs and their lowest points when they feel most inadequate. It’s like being on cloud nine one minute and then getting doused in cold ice water the next.”
“Don’t worry about a nigga that ain’t yours. I’m right here,
“Damn, I love fucking on you,” he murmured against her lips. His palm landed on her ass in a hard slap before he praised, “With yo pretty, freaked out ass.”
“I can’t stop life from happening, but I can stop a nigga from breathing.”
“You know I fuck with you, Michi. I’m trying to be on some Shabu and Savvy shit, but I know you ain’t ready. Hell, I’m probably not either,” he confessed with a chuckle, and she smiled.
When you can dance again, I don’t want to see you doing that shit on a pole.” “I thought you loved seeing me on the pole.” “That ain’t the pole I’m trying to see you on, but that’s another story for another day.”
I need you bad as fuck, Whoop.” “No, you want me.”
Go ahead and fake pack yo shit like you’re going somewhere.” “Oh, you think I won’t?” “I don’t put it past you, but what you need to worry about is if I’ll let you.”
“I want to swim on my own! It’s like he refuses to let me be independent.” “Girl, let that nigga take care of you,” Michi asserted.
He realized their differences attracted him to her from day one.
“You can’t fuck shit but this dick.”
“Don’t even lie around me. If you can tell a bold face lie to the person who’ll hold you down right, wrong, or indifferent, then it ain’t no telling what you’ll do to me.”
“Sit next to her. I need to be on the outside of y’all.” “Why?” she wondered aloud while doing as instructed. “It’s easier for me to protect you if some shit pops off. Same thing as a nigga walking closest to the street or placing you behind him in a thick crowd. The man should always shield you. I keep Whoop glued to my hip or tucked under me. Shit is common sense to be honest, but these niggas don’t give a fuck about y’all for real.”
“Get yo ass in this car and help save yo nigga, Whoop. I know you’re out of it. That shock is kicking in, but you ain’t got time to freeze up. Let’s go.”
“She ain’t trying to hear that shit. Judith rather him be with someone she can control and that he’ll never love harder than her, so she can keep that nigga under her bosoms,” Relic spat, and Judith turned her wrath on him.
I didn’t want to stress you about irrelevant stuff, and yet I’m stressing myself the fuck out behind you!
Now, the one certainty I had with you is gone,
too. I don’t feel safe anymore.”
“Any time before I grow old, bae.” Michi gulped down her nerves at his constant endearment and shut her eyes before pressing her lips against his.
My folks are good at cutting people off, but I’m not falling in line with that shit when it comes to you.
“Stop while you’re ahead,” he interjected. “I’m letting you get this shit off your chest,
but I won’t sit here while you claim I love another bitch like I haven’t been busting my ass to prove that I’m for you and only you.”
“You’re the only person I want to be around, and that’s what pisses me the fuck off.” Savvy released him at the confession. Her gut pitted as he dragged a hand down his mouth and then flung back his crinkled locs before grilling her.
“I miss you, Shabu. Like, so bad that I have to put my hand on my chest to see if my heart is beating sometimes.
we just put everything else aside to get through today?” Shabu rubbed her stomach before licking his lips with a nod. “Yea, Whoop. We can drop this shit for a couple of hours.”
“You should have called,” he told her, peering into her honied irises. “What did I tell you? I’m your what?” “First call about everything.” “Don’t forget that shit, because this is your last strike for holding out on me.” “I hear you, Shabu.”
“I see I’m late to the party,” he said as Shabu
