Before I was ready, he turned all of his intense attention back to me. "I think I've figured out your main strategy." He leaned back and crossed his arms, grinning mischievously from ear to ear. His amber eye sparkled, and I found myself leaning forward, hanging on his every word. "Oh, yeah?" I asked. "What's that?" I didn’t have a strategy. I’d been training for years. Learned to win because I needed to eat.
"You mesmerize the men with those pale blue eyes of yours.” He held my gaze with his. “They become powerless, unable to beat you in the arm wrestling match." Okay. So we were flirting now? That was flirting, right?
"So, you never told me your name."
"My name's Branok Thorn." He cleared his throat and looked down into his nearly empty mug. "Everyone just calls me Thorn, though."
