One of our core human needs is our need for certainty. It can be the little devil on your shoulder that tells you to over-pursue her and blow up her phone, or that you should call her every few days to make certain she is still interested. In our desire to have that certainty about how someone else feels about us, we create the feeling that we are insufficient as a person. We are looking to fulfill our need for certainty with her approval and end up creating the appearance of neediness.
