Look Out for the Little Guy!

I’ll get into this in more detail in a second, but basically, we have to find a new, unexplored part of ourselves to latch on to. That’s how we climb back up into being a new us in a new world. I’m seeing a lot of this fear and confusion right now among my friends. With the existential threat of Thanos behind us, a bunch of my hero peers are just learning, for the first time, how to move on. Whether it’s passing the torch (or hammer, or shield, or bow and arrow) to someone new—or, like Hope, trading in the Wasp suit for a corporate pantsuit. For me, all I’m trying to focus on right now is finishing this book. And when I’m done, I’ll certainly be trying to figure out my own next chapter. But here’s the surprising part: Having been around this existential merry-go-round a few times now, this time I’m actually kind of psyched for the wild and unpredictable ride awaiting me next. What’s my secret? Well, you know the old cliché “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”? That cliché wants to force you to create your next move out of what you’ve been given. But there’s one very important word in there that’s often ignored: YOU. In other words, forget the lemons. Life has already given you a you that’s like no other. And that’s what you’re better off making stuff out of.
