The statement of “taking a tribute” can be better understood if one looks at Enoch as the best mankind has to offer and God took him as a an act of admiration, indicating the intended worth of mankind, had they not turned away from him. The term “Elect One” is very important. It occurs in 1 Enoch and in certain scripture regarding Christ.
