Jones average. So what can we do? The best single thing you can do for the planet is to plant trees.
Agree! our back yard runoof was eroding into the woods and loosened the soil around many trees resulting in falling trees every summer. we planted multiple.trees and plants ans also dispersed the runoff by regrading the yard the result fewer fallen trees and improved growth of younger trees
This is a good book with a good message but this essay/chapter is worthless. Is this author aware that Song of the South’s last theatrical release was in 1986. Disney even called it “fairly offensive and antiquated”. I guess the author thought he was being cute or creative by giving Costa Rican mosquitos accents of poor African Americans from the Mississippi Bayou or from poor Southerners in Appalachia. Even Jar-Jar Binks was criticized for being a racial characterization, although the actor and some academics saw him as an intentional Clown character with a relaxed Afro-Caribbean vibe. Racial stereotyping or light hearted humor, the linguistic style really made this chapter difficult to read on a functional basis. It wasn’t even funny. Keep fighting the good fight in conservationism and ecology. Skip the poor US Southerner uneducated stereotype.
