“Do you want some? How do you take it?” “Up the ass as you saw last night.”
“I slept with you for nothing?” The words played in my head on repeat as I shoved a cigarette between my teeth and stalked toward my car. Why did I feel like I had been used?
Shit. If I’m not careful, I’m going to fall in love.
“What am I talking about? Um, I threw up so hard my throat hurts!” I snapped. “What the hell did you two do to that food? I feel like it was done on purpose. If you want to kill me, at least shoot me in the fucking face.” Benito blinked. “We followed the recipe.” I threw my hands up. “That’s what you both keep saying!” “We did,” Ash added. “Every step.”
I wanted to see more of that fire. I wanted to be licked by his flames.
“Enzo, come on. I think I saw glass cups with the pots the last time we were here,” another man said as he breezed into the house. He was far bigger and taller than Enzo. His dark hair was messy, hanging around his face. He had soft blue eyes as he smiled my way. “What?” Enzo growled. “Where?”
“I will.” My stomach growled. “I better order some pizza. The stitches won’t kill me, but Ash’s cooking might.” “We followed the recipe,” Benito said, looking genuinely distressed.
“Don’t stop,” I groaned. “Ask me after.” “Asshole.” “That's what you’re licking,” I muttered.
“But I’m your asshole.”
“Don’t do that. Don’t run,” he said, grabbing my chin roughly. “Not from me, okay? You got to see me in that place, ugly and terrified. Let me see you too.”
I’m going to marry you, Ash. You don’t know that yet, but I sure as fuck do.
Am I supposed to give a fuck?
“Well, you heard my man, I can’t. Sorry, bro, but you know what they say: happy boyfriend, fantastic sex.” “No one says that,” Enzo piped in. “They should.” Tex laughed.
