If there is something at the target location that is very attractive to the viewer’s subconscious, its attention will tend to be pulled away from its assigned purpose to the thing that interests it more. An “attractor” is anything in the physical environment of the target that tends to draw a viewer’s attention away from the actual assigned target. It can be as simple and innocent as some colorful or intricate whatnot or whirligig. It can be something as imposing and out of the ordinary as a contorted and indefinably shaped modern statue.
