Cohn’s law, sums this up so well. ‘The more time you spend in reporting on what you are doing, the less time you have to do anything. Stability is achieved when you spend all your time doing nothing but reporting on the nothing you are doing.’
Filter what you should deal with, delegate everything you can, prioritise what is left and then focus on what is important.
add the ability and freedom to openly challenge anyone and anything, as long as it is done in a constructive and non-confrontational way.
Regardless of what we discover, we must understand and truly believe that everyone did the best job he or she could, given what was known at the time, his or her skills and abilities, the resources available, and the situation at hand.’
