Hello, Eric! Thanks for asking! I'd say my parents are the guilty parties here. They both were readers.

My mom took me and my siblings down to the public library for books since we were quite little, and we had a family reading club for years. My dad would put up a new calendar in the kitchen each month where we'd write our initials down every time we finished a book, and a running total for each family member was at the bottom of the calendar. Every time one of us kids finished ten books, we'd get some sort of little prize, but when it came down to it, it wasn't about the prizes. Even when the reading club eventually phased out, we kept on reading. My uncle once joked that he'd never seen kids who were so excited to get books for Christmas!

As for my writing, if I had to pinpoint a time when I got started, it was when I was eight years old. I had to write a story for school, using specific spelling words, and my dad seemed to think the story was rather good. (He kept the story--still has it, in fact.)

I've been writing stories ever since. I just put book covers on them now. :-)(less)

Well hello there, Glenda, and bless your whole heart! 😀

I'm publishing Celebrating Solo? as a standalone and also in a collection, Love by the Breather: Four Romantic Reads. I set their "Expected publication" dates as October 1st on Goodreads to give myself plenty of time, but I may get the Kindle files finalized and uploaded to Amazon as soon as today or tomorrow. I can message you when the Amazon pages are ready!

Heeheehee, pardon that the news didn't come out all at once. I add the official pages for my upcoming books and new series on my blog in advance so that I can put the links to those pages in the back of the ebooks, then I publish the ebooks. My official pages for Love by the Breather will go live on my blog tomorrow morning. (And the "Release Day" blog post[s] will go up once the books are ready at all the other retailers. Whew!)

Sorry if that's a bit more info than you're asking for. 😄 But thanks so much for asking!(less)

Before reading this novel that was first published in the 1950s, I read a biographical sketch about the Jubilee Singers in We Sing America, a children's book written by Marion Cuthbert in the 1930s.

That book as a whole, and the
